I found it upsetting that Prince Edward read the lesson at the remembrance service last night. How on earth can someone who could not finish basic training look the families of those who have lost ill equiped young men & women in the eye.

If anyone complained to my Grandma that they were hungry she would reply "Ay & I’m angry so we’ll fight. Also if anyone remarked that a particular couple didn’t seem suited to each other she used to say "As He makes them He pairs them. She had dozens of these sayings & the trouble is as my sister & I get older we find we are coming out with them more & more. Scary thought.

M y grandma used to say "I’ll be janek with you" meaning "I’ll be honest with you" .She was born & lived all her life in Hull but I’ve never heard anyone else say it.Has anyone else?
