Hi everyone!

Are there any followers of Tony Earnshaw out there? He’s the film critic for The Yorkshire Post and Artistic Director for the Bradford Film Festival (so the man knows his fi-lums very well indeed).

Anyway, he’s coming to Waterstone’s on Friday 22nd August (from 6pm till about 7pm/7:30pm) to talk about and sign copies of his book ‘Made in Yorkshire’, which looks at the movies and actors of our White Rose County.

I thought I’d let you know about a couple of poets we’ll soon have visiting us at Waterstone’s.

The first is playwright, poet and TV actor Victor Richards, who will be reading from his ‘Poetry Trilogy’. It looks at the first immigrants from the West Indies to Britain in the 1940s, and is full of passion and fascinating observations. Hello everyone.

If any of you are interested in local history, Garden Village will be celebrating its centenary this July. The Garden Village Society are creating a centenary booklet, which will be around 25 pages and only £3.
