Along with many other old buildings that form part of Hull’s heritage the Carnegie Heritage Information Centre will be open to the public for four days during September giving everyone an opportunity to see what is often hidden from public view.
We hope you will be able to find the time to pop in and enjoy this special place between 10am and 4pm on September 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th.

On the first Sunday of every month the group meets for a relaxed and informal discussion about local history. Very often there is a speaker, the most recent was a Hull lady who has written and published her autobiography, in the past the group has helped choose short films which are to be digitally preserved by the Yorkshire Film Archive.

The Carnegie Library was opened in 1905 and since then has been a much loved landmark on the Anlaby Road. People who visit what is now the Carnegie Heritage information Centre either say "What a beautiful building." or with pride "This used to be my first library."
