BURGERKING it should come with a health warning!! i am soo shocked, myself and my husband went to burgerking on saturday night,we waited in the drive thru que, whilst we where waiting for our order to be taken, there was a puddle of thick grease on the floor, right near the rubbish bin, which was overfilled with rubbish,i couldn’t beleive how much rubbish there was in the carpark.whilst we where waiting in the que, three pigeons came down to eat(rats with wings).if we hadn’t have been in the que,and had two cars parked behind us, we would have reversed and gone back out.ALL the bins where overflowing,so obviously people where leaving all the rubbish on the carpark floor.whilst we where waiting for our food, the staff where walking very slow and holding onto the food units,as we where wondering why ,we took a look for ourselfs, and the floor was so filthy, you would have had to have scraped it off, when we got served,i was REALLY shocked to find 10 CHIPS in a bag,and the cheeseburger, which was totally tasteless, and to top it off,the bread was stale, and god knows how old it was!!!what really annoys me is the fact that someone can get a fine for throwning a tab end on the floor, and fined for a scrap of sausage roll,so WHY havn’t health and safety been to BURGERKING????

Perhaps because no one has reported them. See http://www.hullcc.gov.uk/portal/page?_pageid=221,73236&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL and report them yourself.

You will need to copy and paste the entire link, right up to "PORTAL", to get on to the right page.

Well Julie, I hope you are prepared for the court case that Burgerking will almost certainly instigate against you. I just hope you are aware that in cases like this the side with the most money usually wins, the loser generally goes bankrupt. Lets hope it can be settled out of court.

That’s just not true, agi, and it’s scaremongering. If you make a complaint via the LA’s Environmental Health dept., it’s they who will inspect and decide to prosecute or not.

If the place was so dirty, why did you buy food from them?
I would not be surprised if they did you for slander.

Evening Nutmeg, I agree that the Environmental Health will take Burgerking to court if the conplaint is genuine. However, Julie in her wisdom decided to shoot her mouth off & make accusations on a public site. If the charges are unfounded then Julie has left herself wide open to proceedings by Burgerking. So I am not scaremongering as you put it, just stating the facts.

did you, y’know , say anything at the time?. still, if you choose to put this stuff into your body, what can one expect?.

I should think that by the time Environmental Health gets to the Burgerking site ( if they bother to even turn up) the said site will be spotless. Pity you did not complain at the time, Julie, or just walk away. Did you save the food for analysis? It’s a shame you made a public allegation on here before you contacted Environmental Health. Still it’s easy to be wise after the event.

first of all agitator,i DID NOT mention anything about taking them to COURT!! all i am trying to do is get burgerking to get their place CLEANED up,and how did i know what the food was like until i ate it!!i am not shooting my mouth off,as you call it,i am just stating facts, after all this is a public site,(forum),when you said "pity i didn’t complain at the time" i am not the type of person to show myself up in front of the public, and why should i just walk away when i paid for supposedly good food, which burgerking used to do,what can burgerking actually do regarding libel??

Julie…these places exist in order to extract the maximum amount of cash for the minimum outlay of effort. It’s junk food, pure and simple. There are plenty of good takeaways around, try them instead of these corporate companies.

i can think of few things worse than sitting in a queue of cars at drive-thru burger outlet: do you actually chew the stuff yourself, or does someone do it for you?.

Morning Julie, I am very aware of the fact that you are not taking Burgerking to court. The point I was making is if the charges are unfounded then they will be well within their rights to sue you. To be honest your last entry appears to be a bit confused. You noticed the alleged filthy state of the premises while waiting for your food to be delivered, but you still accepted the food items. This does not appear to be logical. Still I hope you can get it all sorted.

Agi is rarely wrong, if provocative and I would be wary of attacking a company here in such a blatant fashion. I do wonder what the actual law is relative to such a statement? Some guidance from the Mods would be helpful. I presume they do know.

What a pity that the response should be, "You’ve libelled them, they’ll probably sue you". Julie, notify Environmental Health. If the place has cleaned up its act as a result of your post (I’m sure its management are avid readers of this forum) then everybody wins. I’d be willing to bet large amounts of money (which I don’t have) that they would not draw attention to your allegations – even if they were aware of them – by taking legal action.

JULIE, I REPORTED THE KING EDWARDS STREET BRANCH SOME YEARS AGO, I HAD TO GOTO HEAD OFFICE IN AMERICA CAUSE I WASNT CONFIDENT THE UK BRANCH WOULD TAKE MY COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY ENOUGH, BARING IN MIND THEY ARE ALL FRANCHISES SO THEY ARE SOLE TRADERS OPPERATING ON BEHALF OF BURGERKING!
COINCIDENTALLY 5 MONTHS AFTER MY EMAIL THEY CEASED TRADING!!
AGAIN THEY WAS A DISGRACE WITH HYGIENE & THE FOOD STANDARDS!! BUT THEN AGAIN IF YOU WENT TO "KFC" KINGSWOOD LIKE WE DID LAST WEEK I FOUND THERE HYGINE SOMEONE A DISSGRACE!, THE TOILET (MENS) HAS TAPS THAT HAVE TO BE PUSHED DOWN TO OPPERATE & THE COSTCUTTING WAY THEY HAVE THERE’S SETUP IS THAT AS SOON AS YOU RELEASE YOUR HAND OFF THEM THEY TURN OFF SO YOU ARE HAVING TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE TAP THAT IS FILTHY AGAIN THIS IS A PRETY TERRIBLE WAY OF SAVING MONEY!
ALSO OUTSIDE WHERE THE BINS ARE IS NOT FAR OFF A EPIDEMIC IN THE WAITING! THEY SHOULD BE REPORTED!!

Assuming that this isn’t a wind-up, why would you have to "go to" (I presume you mean "write to") their head office rather than just reporting it through the proper, local channels of environmental health? Did you think you’d get a better pay-out?
-
Adolf Submitted 9 months ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
the "outlet" on king edward street ceased trading ‘cos they hadn’t paid the rent, like. i have no sympathy for people who voluntarily enter such premises – if you wish to consume mechanically reclaimed sludge served up by soulless drones in a environment designed to make you want to leave after a few minutes [so that more product end users can be facilitated], what can one expect?.

Kal-El Submitted 9 months ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Shocking taps you have to push down and then the water stops when you release, what is the world coming to? It’s like some puzzle, how can you get your hands wet if you need one on the tap…. ah i have it, i take it you have two hands Mark?
Also using bins for rubbish isn’t disgusting as you say Mark. Gone are the days of wading through the rubbish filled streets like some real life pop art scene.

Try putting the plug in the sink. If no plug is available, carry your own. QED.
-
Kal-El Submitted 9 months ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Agreed I always carry my plug, you just never know when you might need it what with all these “COSTCUTTING WAY”’s

It has been reported that Burger King will use fat-free cooking oil at all its restaurants by the end of next year, following in the footsteps of other leading fast-food restaurants. Now, you can feel a bit better about being grossly obese!
