So you were right and I was wrong...Manchester isn't perfect after all...but I'm still right about the Big Screen!

If the stories and letters in the Mail together with some of the postings on this site were to be believed, no other local authority in this green and pleasant land can boast more examples of how to waste public money than Hull City Council. I have observed many an occasion when the question has been asked, why can’t Hull City Council be more like Manchester, Birmingham (or A.N other City/District/County) Council and be more responsible, especially…

Petty Pilfering.

by Chromosome23 1 day ago
Last updated 8 minutes ago.

Has anyone ever experienced petty pilfering at work? I don’t mean stealing from the company, but colleagues stealing from their fellow workers.

I’m begining to think that the decline of the trade union movement might have something to do with it. When I first started work, we had a strong trade union which helped to forge a common bond between the workers; one would never steal from those with whom one had a common cause. But now it seems as…

Anybody a member of the BMP? If you are/were would you hide it?

Christmas lights switch on

Last updated about 13 hours ago.

Can i just take this opportunity to remind everybody of the Cottingham Lights big switch on. Its happening on Monday 24th November at 7.00pm. You need to get there early as thousands of people attend to see the lights. These lights are erected by volunteers who give up many of their Sunday mornings so the village can put on a good display. Fund raising happens through out the year to help with the new lights and maintenance that is needed to maintain…

This started to happen from July 2008; the DVLA is going to issue reminders from May 2008. The holder MUST renew their licence before their current photo expires, or they face a £1,000 fine.

I take it from this then that there is absolutely no leyway for error. If you simply forget, or move house and don’t get your reminder…
