1. How many unregistered players will St Helens be allowed to use? 2. What’s the record score at Wembley again?

Just trying to help you out here C23 as you put this post up 3 hours ago and have had no replies. Answer, as many as they like. Also the record score has yet to be set. Next time in the dim and distant future if ever HKR get there it would probabley be HKR 0 Whoever LOTS

TheBreaker Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!

Shut up.

TheBreaker Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Is that a no? You could still go and just enjoy the event.

I’ve seen enough of people dressed as humbugs just lately thanks. Being surrounded by a few thousand at Wembley would be more than I could bear.

Join the red and white of Saints?

Dodger Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Rovers have won the challenge cup at least once to my knowledge when they beat Hull 10 – 5 in 81.
-
TheBreaker Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!

Hull FC are in a cup final that will be watched by millions all over the world. It promotes Hull and raises the profile of Hull.It gives a lot of pleasure to many kids in Hull who have pride in their team, and will enjoy a trip to Wembley, yet there always some who will knock that dream come true to many.Never knock something that gives pleasure to many, and protmotes Hull on the national and international stage.I will wear my Hull FC shirt with pride.

Quote barrow "watched by millions all over the world."
Quite. So no pitch invasions please, you humbug impersonators. :-)

Forgive my ignorance, I’m not a rugby fan, but when is the final?
-
Colombo Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Don’t come to our house, whenever it is.
My grandfather apparently played for Rovers about 100 years ago. My mother remembered him coming home from Leeds, I think, with a medal.
My Wife’s grandfather was a founder shareholder in Hull FC.

Re that ridiculous picture at the top of the thread next to my name.
Someone at the HDM has a sick sense of humour!!!

Colombo Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Are you suggesting they should have had a picture of a Hull Rugby league club winning at Wembley?

The Challenge Cup final will be played on August 26th, for the first time at the new Wembley stadium.
The Wembley website lists the following statistics which may answer the ‘highest score’ query:
St Helens 40 – 32 Bradford Bulls
The 1996 Challenge Cup final
Not only was Saint’s 40 points the highest score of a winning team in a final, Bull’s 32 was the highest score by a losing team. The total 72 points is therefore the highest points total of a final, as was the total number of tries (13).
Saints were 26-12 down at one point, making their victory the biggest turnaround.
(All these records relate to Challenge Cup finals, although not necessarily at Wembley, and do not include other matches in this or any other competition.)
Hull FC have won the tournament 3 times but never at Wembley -
1910 at Huddersfield
Hull FC 26 – 12 Leeds (replay match after 7-7 draw)
1982 at Elland Road, Leeds
Hull FC 18 – 9 Widnes (replay match after 14-14 draw, at Wembley)
2005, at Millenium Stadium, Cardiff
Hull FC 25 – 24 Leeds
Good luck to Hull FC in their quest to win the cup at Wembley for the first time.

Sorry for the pic C23, I just thought as you were asking about the challenge cup, and Hull FC were in the final, it would be fitting to show them lifting the cup on a previous occasion.

YourMailWill Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
I can replace it with a pic of the cup on it’s own if you’d prefer not to be reminded of Hull’s successes in the competition…
-
Chromosome23 Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
I’d appreciate that thanks Will. I had to have a lie down when I first saw the pic of THEM with the cup!
-
YourMailWill Submitted about 1 month ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
There we are, the new picture shows the cup on the turf at wembley, festooned in green and purple, the neutral colours of the tournament sponsor Carnegie.
Come on you Hull!! :)

Of course, Rovers did win the Cup in 1981, beating Hull FC no less. I’ve added this picture in the interest of fairness to supporters of both teams. It’s a black and white pic so I’ve reddened it out of respect ;)

Thanks for that Will.
Rovers actually beat Hull in 1980. A full list of the CC winners is available here.

Apologies, I was reading from a list that only gave the season (ie 1980-1981) instead of the specific date of the final. I think I got all the others right… If not, I’m sure someone will let us know.
Actually, looking at that list it seems that the stats I quoted earlier were incorrect, despite coming from Wembley’s own website. There are two winning scores higher than Saint’s 40 points:
Leeds 52 – 16 London Broncos (1999, at Wembley)
St Helens 42 – 12 Huddersfield (2006, at Twickenham)

Hull FC 53,Saints 0 2008 final. But may have got that wrong
-
Chromosome23 Submitted 27 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
barrow, I reckon you might be closer in your prediction if you look at the score from the JJB.
-
barrow Submitted 27 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
I know, after that game. But Hull are there and not Wigan again
-
Willow Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
I wonder how many Rovers fans where born when Rovers last won the Challenge Cup
-
fatpuss Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Was that at Wembly.
-
Willow Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Sometime in the last century.
-
Colombo Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
And who did they beat?
-
fatpuss Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Oh that will be the Robins then most of the geezers on here will have been around.
-
Willow Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
So the last time Rovers won the Challenge Cup was at Wembley in the last century and they beat Hull FC. WOW. And that was in the last century and since then they have only won a tray. The Thomas the Tank engine tray. WOW
-
fatpuss Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Win or loose Rovers supporters sing their hearts out till the final whistle and after. They dont leave the ground in droves like some other clubs supporters.
-
Willow Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
You have obviousley not supported Rovers for long then
-
fatpuss Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Maybe not as long as the sell-by date on FCs sausage rolls.
-
Willow Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Can’t argue with that.
-
ChiefDragon Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Wouldn’t it be nice though if Hull won the cup and we had two trophy winning teams from this city?, and yes I would still be asking that question if Rovers were playing in the final,I am black and white through and through but would still be cheering Rovers on for the glory of Hull (unless they were playing FC :)
-
ChiefDragon Submitted 26 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
YourMailWill surely the FC match is being played on Saturday 30th??? The 26th is a Tuesday.
-
YourMailWill Submitted 24 days ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
Don’t know where that came from..? It is in fact the 30th.
