Is Batman a Superhero?

There have been a lot of rubbish threads around lately so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and make my own.

But honestly this is a serious question has plagued people for hundreds of days. I can’t see how he can be called a superhero when he doesn’t have any super powers or abilities. All the man has is lots of gadgets and a fancy dress costume. So I claim he is just a hero!

    I have seen many websites to claim to answer who would be last superhero standing but they have all been wrong.

    But he does super-human things like jump off buildings! And he has the ability to change! One minute he looked like Michael Keaton, then Val Kilmer, then George Clooney" and now that kid from "Empire of the sun"!

    Yes I would mike because he has the super human ability to heal or Weapon X as it is known. His metal lined skeleton and claws were put in him because of him having this ability.

    Another one I have trouble with is Iron-man is he a superhero or is he disabled?

    Isn’t that part of what makes a really good and interesting superhero? They have fantastic powers but they also have weaknesses, whether physical or otherwise. Iron Man’s disability is key to his status as a superhero. If he was completely untouchable he would be boring.

    A recurring theme is the difficulties in living a double life or the ways in which their ‘super’ side destroys their human side. Superman/Clark Kent had it, Spiderman/Peter Parker had it, they examined it in great detail in the films, how he wanted to reveal to whatshername but couldn’t for her safety. With great power comes great responsibility and all that.

    Bananaman/Eric managed to cope, but he only had a 5 minute show.

    But Iron-man doesn’t have any super powers/ abilities. Just a suit with a battery that keeps him alive.

    Surely a superhero is a normal person who does more than a normal hero, whereas superman etc. have superpowers.
