Holiday in Britain or abroad?

We recently got a quote from Butlins for a week with four adults and two kids at £1,100 self catering.All the food and drinks were extra.Last year,the kids went free with four paying adults at an all inclusive holiday in Spain for two weeks at a cost of £1,600.Every thing was free when we got there.We have tried to book a cottage in Britan in August,and quoted £600 to £1,000.We got a holiday abroad for £600 all inclusive for both of us.Is it cheaper to go abroad than holiday in Britian

I used to love Butlins was going to go this year till i looked and it was £1800 for a week. Instead we are going abroad for 2 weeks for 300 less

I think if you still like the warmer weather you can get good cheap deals abroad especially if you can navigate yourself around the web. The problem with holidaying in this country is that if the weather is poor you have to spend cash on entertainment which is expensive and can add up if you have to do it on a daily basis. Abroad for me i think.
