any predictions for the coming season for our teams. personally i think both will make top six this year. Whats your views. I am a life long rovers fan and i am just glad to see them back in the top flight where they belong plus i think the derbies will be good for this town ,thats partly why both teams where so succsessful in the early 80,s ,it was down to competing to be the best in this town so hopefully it will put both teams back at the top of the pile again.

firstly i have to agree yes both got good teams only problem is hull kingston rovers seem to have a hull fc reserve team.too many players have crossed the city.so course hull kr will do well.its obvious with so many ex hull fc players.ever wonder why they signed for kr???? surplus to requirements at the kc of course.i wish hull kr all the best because at the end of the day they will need it.bring on the derby games.they wil be very interesting to watch im sure.

they signed for KR because i don`t think your coach has got a clue, and rumour has it that there is a lot of disruption within the ranks, Why on earth did he let briscoe go is beyond me, chester was never given a fair crack of the whip and cooke just went about it the wrong way and is currently paying for it, and on the evidence of what i saw in only there second run out together it has got the makings of a good team, They just need game time together. And you make your own luck in rugby, Rovers had leeds on the rack and then just seemed to try and sit back and hold on which cost them in the end. They need to start playing for 80 mins not 65 or 70.

I think both teams have a chance of making the top six , My team Hull FC look like they will have to do it the hard way again given the large amount of injuries , why they saw fit to let Briscoe go to Rovers i do not know he is class.

Yes, Frankie Foster to come on as a sub and take control of the game for Rovers. Actually, I fear there may be crowd trouble caused by an opportunistic few wanting to take advantage of the compromised position both clubs are in (in the main Rovers) after what happened last season. I hope not.

Frank Foster…now he was a character! A true great.
If Rovers play the full 80 minutes next Friday like they played the second half tonight, then they will take Hull apart.
And crowd trouble? If the Hull fans decide to invade the pitch, I just hope that the Rovers crowd stand back and let them do it. Let the RL world see were the problem really is.

It all seems a bit strange. I remember years ago the Derby was all about 26 players knocking hell out of one another and that was one of the reasons the tribal passions were maintained. The "knocking hell out of…" bit usually lay outside of the laws but a lot of supporters were genuinely disappointed if there wasn’t at least one mass brawl on the pitch. The local lads were particularly enthusiastic about this part of their on the pitch performance although some out of town guests (take a bow Frankie Foster) took this to new levels and became role models to those learning "the biff" I agree with Cavynaut that a great deal of savvy and possibly restraint may well be needed by Rovers fans come the match. In the mean time,... BRING BACK FRANKIE FOSTER..BRING BACK THE BIFF.

Yeah, that’s a facet of the derby games that is missing now. The lack of genuinely local born players means that the rivalry is generally off the pitch rather than on it. But you’re right about FF, he terrified me, and I used to cheer for him!

How many Southern Hemisphere players/ coaches were involved in today’s game?. Hope it was a good game, though.

it was an error strewn game , but kr had the better kick game and should have put fc to bed by half time and didn`t take there chances. but hull fought back in second half and a last minute drop sealed it for rovers.

Down the middle for five runs, and then a kick.Any team knows how Hull FC play
-
davidntina Submitted 4 months ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
trouble was they didn`t really have a kicking game at all and rovers did and that is what won the game in the end

Had the conditions been better, then Rovers kicking game and ball movement would’ve destroyed Hull. Credit to the Hull side though, they defended well. But they need a brain…Rovers set the drop goal up, Hull kicked for the corner. Bad coaching.
A fair result in the end, the better side won, and I don’t think that we’ve seen the best of Rovers yet.

having moved to hull this year i have really taken to rugby league in a big way but i am still puzzled in that clearly rugby league is a vastly raising sport, why are the referees so shocking and yet week in week out they seem to get away with playing by their own rules ?? i think its crazy, anyone agree???
-
davidntina Submitted 3 months ago Unsuitable Content? Report it!
yes completely if all referees where at the very least consistent with there decisions then they should build from there. the season has shown a number of inconsistencies by the refs, the worst culprits seem to be silverwood, thaler and laughton as some of there decisions have been beyond beggars belief so far this year.

I think hull kingston rovers will do really well this season considering they have already beaten hull fc three consecutive times.

well boys and girls the season is half way through now and neither team has lived upto there potential for one reason or another. I do feel sorry for hull with what is going on at the mo it has to be very disruptive from the top down .SO COME ON HULL SORT IT OUT YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS. but has to be said rovers are by far the more superior team so far this year. The close season signings seem to be working well with the best still yet to come from them. Very sad to lose James Webster through injury half way through as the guy has been a legend to get us back where we belong in the top flight, and now we have a new recruit on the way to replace him. 3 straight derby wins for us reds in 20+ years …....................come on you reds….........onwards and upwards…...........come on you reds.

Can’t stand Rovers as they stopped me watching a decent sport, speedway. Hull FC are just average. Watch Union, it’s not a girls game where you hand the ball over after 6 tackles, you’ll also see a proper scrum !!! Up the Springboks, Rugby World Champions 1995, 2007.

rugby league [officially a list B sport!] lol, "let’s get french team to join in so we can pretend we’ve got a european league and then move the tv highlights show to 3 o’clock on monday morning, ‘cos it’s not worth putting on"
