It’s a bit sad that with such archaic views, she’s chair of the Stormont Health Committee, considering how much religion-based political strife Northern Ireland has suffered so far.

When you start to consider homosexuality as a disease, then there is no limit to what and who you can label as diseased. Ship them off to a private and secluded medical establishment and perform new and relatively untried experiments upon them. Hmm, where have I heard this before?
Besides which, if you were to cure homosexuality, then you would have to close pretty much all of the theatres in the country.

I had a work mate whose youngest son ‘came out’ and her husband said it was her fault, WHAT, she was in a right state poor lass.
Why was the word ‘gay’ attached to this?, the ones I know are miserable so and so’s.Live and let live is my motto, so long as its kept in their private world. What I don’t agree with is the one’s who insist on ‘outing’ public figures.

I have a lot of respect for Peter Tatchell (sp ?). Started out as a campaigner on gay issues, and then went onto more mainstream humanitarian stuff. Such as his attempt to make a citizens arrest on Robert Mugabe. A brave bloke.

I don’t “hate” camp people my head will just explode if I listen to there over the top reactions for too long. If this metrosexual virus continues to spread and all men begin to wash and spend too long trying to look fabulous then my friends we are in real trouble.
To start with antimicrobial ingredients in soap sap your testosterone (University of California) and who’s going to do any manual labour anyway when no one will want to get sweaty or their designer jeans dirty.

And to what level does soap reduce one’s testosterone? Minimal, I expect. Doesn’t eating red meat increase testosterone? If it’s alright by you, I’ll continue to wash everyday and top up my levels with the occasional steak, ta very much.

I’m not defending the gay basher because their actions harm others and are intended to change the victims’ views, lifestyles, whatever, or as a punishment. It’s a form of Fascism. The camp person, on the other hand, is not actually causing any harm. One is a passive state of being that does not directly affect anyone; the other is an act of violence and intimidation.

So I turn my attentions to theagitator… hmmmm, how best to apprroach the issue? Do I deliver a piece about civil liberties, consenting adults and the live and let live philosophy? Or do I just tell him to get a grip, grandad, it’s the 21st century and if you don’t like someone else’s mannerisms, well, tough. As for the "un-natural act" line, why not propose banning all clothing? What about all entertainment and culture? These are un-natural. I have quite a few friends and acquaintances who are of the `Torn Sleeve’ persuasion. None of these men could have a sexual relationship with a woman if their lives depended on it. The very thought would give them the horrors.
