Just wondering who you think will Win Euro 2008. My money is on the Germans but you never can tell.
At least this time round we can’t go out on penalties ;-)

Could be a nice little earner, Ed. As the Germans seem to be the favourites, I’ll also be rooting for the Dutch. But I never back a team that I want to win, so I’ve got a tenner on the Romanians at 48-1. And I’ll hope not to see Germany v Italy in the final.

because the coverage is organised months [years] in advance, and many people like football per se, not just when the home nations qualify for major tournaments. and, as europeans, it is of interest to see the other teams, many of which contain players from the english premier league.

I know a few people wont believe me but as soon as Russia appointed Gus as the coach I had a bet on them for the Euros and the world cup. Its looking quite a good bet now. Look at the teams he has managed in major tournaments, S.Korea and Australia both got to the semi’s unbeleivable. England should have gone for him as their coach ages ago.

disappointing russian performance. spain looked good though. 3 good goals. another team who, unlike england, can pass the ball to each other and who don’t panic when the other side has it. final is germany v spain. be nice to see the skilful spanish win against the unconvincing germans. but, you can’t right them off. 2 – 1 germany.

Anyone watch the final? Quite enjoyed it myself. Spain certainly deserved to win. Shame that Ballack couldn’t have been a bit more magnanimous in defeat. Does he not know how to smile?
