I’ve been advised to copper grease every bolt on my bike – anyone else do this/have any other method?

To copaslip every bolt on a bike would be a very meticulous and time consuming job indeed. A good idea in theory but maybe just a little OTT. I would suggest just using a good molybdenum grease on normal bolts, especially if you are putting anything on engine parts with normal bolts. What I have found in the past is that you have to spread a very thin coating on the thread of the bolt to avoid getting a big splodge of excess copaslip which attracts grit and dirt, and its a pain to clean off. Certainly use copper grease on any stainless steel bolts that you may be threading into alloy as there is a chemical reaction between stainless and alloy which causes the alloy to corrode and fuse with the bolt. Hope this is some help

Great help – thanks : ) Always important to look after the bike. Found it highly amusing riding over piles of grit recently – not sure the spreaders are spreading more dumping.
