I saw this in the Hull Daily Mail this morning.
A volunteer group in Hull has highlighted the "hidden problem" of adult bullying. Youth group ACE has been distributing leaflets to GP’s surgeries, libraries, buses and sports groups in Hull, to help victims of bullying. The group belong to the Hull and East Yorkshire branch of Mind, a mental health charity. The volunteers, aged from 16-25, work on mental health issues in the region. Volunteer Samantha Hagar, 25, of Sutton Park, Hull, said: "When do you ever see adult bullying publicesed?" It isn’t. "People believe bullying ends when people leave school. "In fact, many, many people are affected. It happens in the workplace especially, but I have even seen it happen in the pub. "We wanted people to know they weren’t the only ones and there was help out there." The group launched their campaign at the Wellington Lane Multi-Cultural fun day last Saturday, to celebrate the diverse cultures in the city. The leaflet gives advice on where to get help and methods of dealing with bullying. For help, call the national bullying helpline on 0845 2255787.
