Beautiful Hull

Whilst roaming the outlying villages I spotted a view of the River Humber and Humber Bridge I’d not seen before.
It was a lovely evening and I stopped to take in the view, the next time I went with a friend who was equally as impressed with the view I realised that it was not a secret and met many people by the river side.

Red – I am often surprised to be able to see the Humber Bridge (or at least some of it) when I am out and about from places I might not expect to see it from. Given the sheer size of the bridge, I don’t know why I should be surprised – I can’t imagine there are many places in the area where you can’t see it from! I took this one from the Priory road fields area and there was a wonderful display of yellow rapeseed and blue borage.

Red: have you discovered "Surprise View" from the ‘high road’ between Elloughton and Brough?

The view was from North Ferriby (Redcliff Drive) had to re-trace my steps to figure it out! There’s a lovely quiet stretch of pebbley sand.
It’s a fantastic structure and I hope to capture more views on my wanders. There’s some great Bridge shots in the Beautiful Hull group too.
Will have to head to Elloughton Colombo and find the High Road, Thanks.

Red: Go past the Green Dragon pub, keeping the stream on your right. Instead of turning to the right with the main road, change down into 1st and make the sharp turn to the left. Keep climbing the relatively steep hill until Surprise View opens up on your left.
Pause, and admire.
