One advantage of the diesel railcars was the ability to sit behind the driver, and see where you were going.
This is the view coming out of Sheffield Midland, on a the 15:48 to Hull on Friday, 21st March 1980.
I’ve just noticed that it was taken on my 10th Wedding Anniversary. I’m pretty certain I would have remembered it – in fact, I would still be remembering if I’d forgotten!
