Garden Village is 100 years old today. The opening ceremony took place on Wednesday 1st July 1908 in ideal weather. On the 27th July 2008 there will be the unveiling of a plaque followed by the re-enactment of the opening ceremony and then a series of historical walks around the village, where walkers will be told stories and meet characters from the last 100 years of the village. Lets hope that we have ideal weather on the day just as it was in 1908! Happy Birthday Garden Village

Happy Birthday Garden Village!! I am looking forward with anticipation for the launch of the centenary book at Waterstones tonight and to the 27th July when all our plans for the centenary celebration come to fruition.

Thank you to Waterstones for making the launch of the Garden Village Centenary Book a great success. It was a wonderful evening and that was just the beginning of the celebrations. Can’t wait for the 27th July!!

Due to the Hull Daily Mail and Your Mail coverage, the Garden Village Centenary Book has been selling in large quantities since the launch night. I’m glad to say that it’s our top seller every day!
