Thought I’d have a change from locomotives today.
On 24th December 1980, British Rail ran the last pick-up freight from Hull to Bridlington and return. I went out to photograph it, and was invited into the cabin at Beverley Cherry Tree cabin, where I took the attached photo.
I had a Cannon F1 at the time with an f1.2 lens. Consequently, I could use solely the light of the 40 watt lamp above the table to take this one of the train register. The only downside is that I was using Ilford HP5 film at the time. If I had been using the finer grain FP4, it might be possible to actually read the register.
