The Railway Society was fairly active at the school. This is some of a party on a visit to Low Moor loco shed.

On shed visits, some foremen weren’t keen on groups of schoolboys wandering around their shed, Others couldn’t give a monkey and let us wander at will, just telling us to ‘mind out’. At Ardsley, near Leeds, we were even asked if we’d like to up the coaling plant. This was the view. Thursday, 13th June 1957.
