Our own virtual coffeeshoppe… a place where we can sit and chat over a steamy cup of our favorite brew….
What is your favorite coffee drink? Are you a frequent flyer at Starbucks? Do they know you by name? (Personally, I have my own named drink…. sad, I know) How do you take your coffee? Light and sweet? Black? With cream?

Iced Kenya coffee with strawberries
- 8 cup cafetiere
- 100g ground Kenya coffee (freshly ground is best)
- Large jug half filled with ice
- Strawberries, sliced and whole
Make the coffee and brew for 4 minutes before plunging.
Allow to cool down for a while, pour into the jug and top up with berry slices. Serve garnished with whole fruits.

In the papers today – the good news is drinking coffee could have a protective effect against Alzheimer’s disease. A daily dose of caffeine blocks the disruptive effects of high cholesterol that scientists have linked to the disease, a study has found.

Did you know that Starbucks cafe doesn’t just do coffee? It takes part in the National Literacy Trust and collects books that are distributed to over 200 primary schools nationally. They set a target in 2007 of 120,000 books and early results showed that it was a big success – all thanks to those customers who have given ‘the gift of reading’ by donating children’s books.
