Hull is a world unto it’s own when it comes down to our accent.. even to the point that computers cannot understand it. We not only have a unique accent but! also have our own sayings and words for some things! As and entertainer I like to get people in my audience shouting out Hull saying’s and do get some corkers! What are / is your Hull saying (s) or words? there must be oodles of them…

At school we used to play marbles! amongst them we had "Glamogs" "Bollies" "Frenchies" and of course "Marbs"... Mum used to "bool" us down the "tenfoot" in our "Tansad" later known as a "Tanny"... When out on my pushbike better known as a "Shove Iron" We would give each other a "croggy" we would stop at the local "Chippy" and get a "Patty" and chips! if the "Patty" gets stuck in your throat it would make you "Balk".
