In April 2008, the site was named winner in the Best Use of New Media category at the 2008 Newspaper Awards, run by the Production Journal, a leading industry periodical.
The judges hailed Your Mail as an innovative community site which had the potential to really take off. They said it was a good blueprint for members of the public to communicate through their local newspaper company.

In June 2008, Mail News & Media Ltd was named Multimedia Publisher of the Year at the 2008 Regional Press Awards, run by the Press Gazette, another leading industry periodical.
The award was given in respect of the company’s continued drive to diversify across multimedia platforms and. Your Mail was included as an example of these innovations.
Mail News & Media Ltd received two other awards for the Hull Daily Mail; Daily Newspaper of the Year (over 40000 average circulation), and front page of the year, for an aerial photograph showing the extent of the flooding in June 2007, as well as five other nominations.
