I was overjoyed when I watched batman and realised finally someone in hollywood was capable of writing a script – a really real one! twists, laughs, plot…

It seems alas hollywood may have misplaced the scriptwriter and gone instead for sequels and remakes. Fame is being re-made, Tron has a sequel- TR2N and even the lost boys has a sequel although I think Corey Feldman may have been kept on ice somewhere as he doesn’t appear to look any different…

Some critics have slated the movie, I watched and found myself happily entertained – as ever these days I’m sure there’s more to come.

Whatever happened to the sequel – have I missed it?

As many a reasonable film by our american friends it started with a book, are they children’s books? seems like a lot of adult themes – Harry Potter may have a challenger!

Yay, finally a film that may be worth holding my breath for.

If you read the book written about the same events it’s much better.

If you don’t know already, the idea is to link an actor to Kevin Bacon by listing their co-stars in other films and finding a link. The least amount of links wins.

For example: Arnold Schwarzenegger

was in Terminator 2 with Edward Furlong who was in American History X with Edward Norton who was in Fight Club with Brad Pitt who was in Sleepers with Kevin Bacon

I used 4 films to get from Arnie to Kevin Bacon. Can you do it in 3?

In Hull alone we now have Odeon (10 screens), Cineworld (9 screens), Reel (7 screens) and Vue (10 screens).

So why, with 36 screens in total, do many films like Control (the recent Joy Division biography) fail to get a theatrical release in Hull?

You can see the same mainstream stuff at each of these outlets, but a film like this, which has received great critical and public acclaim, is ignored. Presumably they think there is no call for…

The advertising would haave us believe the latest adaptation of Sweeney Todd is a masterpiece.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film as did a packed cinema around me (although I was the only one laughing) this beautifully dark film of the musical reminded me of a mix moulin rouge because of the type of shots and Jack the Ripper’s old London due to the dingy London look – loved it!
