Party Visiting Low Moor Shed

Any members of the school’s Railway Society out there ?
Does any one know what happened to the York and Ainsty’s nameplate ?
I seem to remember we each put 3p into a collection to buy it.
I think the one on the wall of the Railway Museum at York is the one from the other side.

Riley Railway Society

When I started at Riley in ‘57 half my first year class were train enthusiasts and as the new building had the elevated line running along the edge of the playing field concentrating on lessons on that side of the school proved a bit difficult for some. I memorable incident I do recall was an early physics lesson with Mr. [Bill] Pike when one of the ‘spotters’ made a strange gurgling sound while pointing frantically out of the window. Going past…
